Happy is the one to whom an environmentally friendly farm product is available – homemade sausage. But not everyone can buy such food: it is expensive and is not sold in convenience stores, where you can drop in on the way from work.
Only one thing remains – store sausage. The product is harmful, but not everyone can permanently eliminate it from the diet. And for all those who can not, 7 simple tips on how to choose sausage to get the minimum of harm and the maximum pleasure.
How to choose sausage in the store?
1. Choose a local one. Give preference to sausages from local producers. Products that are brought from other regions and countries, as a rule, have a longer shelf life and a more “criminal” composition.
2. Read the label. To know which sausage to choose, read the basic information on the package: shelf life and composition. The shorter it is, the better. The composition of high-quality sausages: meat, spices, fat, stabilizer color sodium nitrite or other (a complete list of safe food additives will help you). If you find an “ingredient” from another tablet – “conditionally dangerous” or “dangerous”, it is better not to take the product.
3. Try to touch. The sausage baton should be elastic and easy to regain its shape when pressed, like fish or meat.
4. Evaluate the appearance. The surface of fresh sausages – uniform, dry, aesthetic, as in the picture. If you notice mucus, spots and other defects – the product is spoiled.
5. Evaluate the packaging. Natural packaging is the best. Gas-modified – allows you to extend the shelf life without unnecessary preservatives.
6. Look for “signs”: A, B or B. A means the presence in the product of 60% or more muscle tissue, B – from 40 to 60%, C – from 20 to 40%.
7. Look at the price. Too low cost indicates low quality.
Now you know how to choose the right sausage, but remember – even a good product can not be abused. A maximum of a couple of pieces for breakfast, if you do not want to add to the waist.
